Rosy’s Raffle in the News!

August 28, 2011

The $5,000 proceeds from Rosy’s Raffle, which was held at the UMHA Annual Awards Banquet on April 3, 2011, was donated to the Let’s Learn Hockey (LLH) Program of the Minor Hockey Foundation of Ontario. This program provides a full set of new hockey equipment, a day of hockey skills camp, and assistance with hockey registration fees to underprivileged children.

Debbie Marshall and Rose-Mary Holosko, our banquet organizers, were proud to be part of another successful day that brought our four year total donation to LLH to over $16,000! Also read the coverage on the Minor Hockey Foundation of Ontario website.

UMHA Supports Let’s Learn Hockey

The UMHA would again like to thank its members and its sponsors for their support and generosity in helping us to achieve another donation to the Minor Hockey Foundation of Ontario.

From the Foundation, we received the following words of encouragement:

“This is terrific news! I know the Foundation can really use the funds for the “Let's Learn Hockey Program”. Congratulations to Diana Allion and everyone else who took part in these fundraising initiatives.”

—Richard Ropchan, OMHA Executive Director

“This is great news and such a boost for the Foundation. We are finding it much tougher this year, what with the economy tanking out, there are far fewer donations coming through. It will go a long way to foster our programs. Unionville has been a great supporter of the Foundation and we sincerely appreciate it. You guys are AWESOME.”

—John Archibald, President of the Minor Hockey Foundation

“This is wonderful news. I know that this will allow more kids the opportunity to play this wonderful game.”

—Dave Saunders, OMHA Regional Executive Member, Markham Unionville
