Parent Respect in Sport - Mandatory (Unionville Minor Hockey Association)

PrintParent Respect in Sport - Mandatory

The Parent Respect in Sport Course is an online certification program designed to protect our youth as well as enhance the OMHA's mandate of providing a safe and fun environment for all participants. It is Canada's leading online bullying, abuse, harassment, and neglect prevention program for parents, coaches, and community leaders.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) requires that at least one parent or guardian of each minor hockey player (18 years and under) registered in the OMHA complete the online Parent Respect in Sport Course.

This certification only needs to be completed by one parent, one time.  If you have done the Parent RIS, you don't need to do it again; however, if you are registering a new player, you will need to link that player to your Parent RIS profile.  This course must be completed by September 15th in order for your child to participate in the UMHA programming.

Some quick facts:

  • 1-hour online course
  • Cost is $12.00
  • One time only
  • Accessed through the OMHA website:
  • Enter your child's name and link the certification to the Unionville Minor Hockey Association when completing the course!

Please note that if a parent/guardian has completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader program, the Parent Respect in Sport Course is different and still needs to be completed.

Thank you for your commitment to the safety, enjoyment, and success of your child in the UMHA and for all OMHA participants.
